Brighton's White Night Festival is a wild and untamed arts event dancing through till dawn each year and celebrating the darkness.  In 2010 I designed and painted a huge cabinet on wheels (made from an old horse cart) in collaboration with  life drawing events organiser Draw. The city wide theme that year was 'Enlightenment'  and I used the idea of  Wunderkammer and travelling medicine men around at the time of the Enlightenment to inspire the cabinet.  It was pulled through the city, stopping periodically to open its doors and reveal a life model inside - any onlookers, if enlightened, were encouraged to draw what they saw!
Additionally I created a map for the event which was also used by Brighton Animation Group's for their White Night graphic novel publication.
This project was supported and funded by The Big Draw and Brighton and Hove county council.  Enlightenment: The Cabinets of Wonder won a Drawing Inspiration award from the Big Draw.
