A traditional 'Heart in Hand' love token for Valentine's Day. Gloves were often given as gestures of love up to the 17th century but paper versions started to emerge in the 18th - each with paper hearts woven into their palms. Their height of popularity came in the 19th century and they're mostly associated with Shaker communities in the USA.
Here's my version. Inspiration is taken from folk plant-lore with plants like vervain and mugwort depicted - associated with traditional love spells. The fingers are lettered with good wishes, not exactly reflecting, but inspired by old palm reading maps and a Heart Moth flutters soft kisses on the reverse.
