A double page spread for 'In My Garden'. This was a challenge on a number of levels: making sure the curved text and image worked well together and making the image work with the other illustrations in the picturebook as a whole (it's underground so obviously has a distinct colour palette from the other spreads that are mostly green). The decorative elements of stones and roots echo the highly patterned flowers and plants in the above ground spreads.
